Underground artist KZ didn’t like his hand in life, so he’s drawing new cards. For the past five years, he has been quietly creating his own brand:KZ Concepts’

“KZ High Society.”

He specializes in hand-stippled and engraved “Royalty Art” which he uses to customize nearly anything with a surface.

His style is bold and abstract, but with such attention to detail it is utterly mind-blowing.

What sets the royalty art apart from the rest is that each design is composed entirely of #KZHS Kings, Queens and Jacks.

All custom products are “you-themed” as KZ explains it.

It could be a fun scene of your “Royal Fam”, or the characters depicting chapters of your life.

The High Society collection and KZ Concepts are bound to become household names as he turns ordinary objects into stunning pieces of personalized artwork as vivid as stained glass.

The bold coloring is illustrated with great detail and patience; like nothing seen on the market to date.

“I rarely use a straight edge or trace because I consider it cheating. I prefer a slightly imperfect line that I drew to a perfect one a ruler did. With everyone relying so heavily on technology I feel it is important to keep an element of humanity in my work,” he said.

KZ customizes everything thing from shoes to wooden boxes, shirts, jars, sculptures, jewelry, tobacco accessories (“Vice Art”), weapons (like “The King’s A.K.”, (his personal rifle which has been fully engraved and illustrated with over 300 Kings, Queens and Jacks), to fashion products — aside from his popular Royal Fam comics.

His work is literally one of a kind.

“Rather than solid color on everything, I hand-stipple it to enhance the look of the piece.” He continued, “Face counts range from three to over a thousand. On average it takes about 15 minutes to completely draw each character.”

 Image

Though the Akron, Ohio native has been honing his craft for over five years, he has really begun to establish himself in the past two.

Image

He has created artwork for a few big names; among them NBA great (and KZ’s personal basketball hero), Muggys Bogues, for whom he created “The #ALLIN Spalding (a custom 8-panel basketball that tells the story of Bogues’ life and accomplishments.)

 Image

“I always ask clients to give me ten or twenty details they’d like to see incorporated — names, dates, events, and important parts of their life. I hide clues everywhere. The finished product will tell their story,” KZ explained.

Aside from Bogues, KZ has also created custom works for The Game (a grinder),

Lil Flip (an illustrated/engraved “Lucky Nites” bottle),

2 Chainz (an illustrated/purple liquid filled codeine bottle sculpture),

and a custom softball for NWA Entertainment.

KZ is rapidly expanding his brand into limited edition fashion, footwear and apparel. Each custom piece comes with a numbered, collectable certificate of authenticity.

Image

He’s also been working with furniture, greeting cards, lamps, scented candles, and just about anything with an ordinary surface that he can make extraordinary.

Image

“Nothing is too frivolous!”

 Image

“I want to sell everyone in the world one piece of KZHS art,” he said. “I take cool items and customize them beyond recognition to develop a unique, never replicated item that will turn heads. I enjoy drawing playing cards.”
